Text Box: RHS students go back in time for homecoming
(Article taken from the Las Vegas Optic, Wednesday-Thursday, September 23-24, 2009 -- written by Don Pace)
Robertson High School homecoming features a blst from the past, with the 2009 theme, "Breaking the Laws of Time."  Students are spending the week dressing in any costume that has to do with time travel.
Student Council President Cody Ross Romero said, "Individual classrooms decorated their hallways in a timeline, from prehistoric all the way to futuristic.  So it's pretty cool."
Romero said there will also be a bonfire.
"I don't know how long it's been, but this is the first time in a long time we've got approval to get everything organized with the fire department for a bonfire.  That will happen Thursday night in the south parking lot following the 6 p.m. pep assembly."  Romero said other officers helping to organize events were Vice President David Meuller, Secretary-Treasurer Adrienne Roybal and sponsor Brenda Ortega-Benavidez.
The Robertson High School homecoming parade Friday will line up on Fifth and Friedman and begin at 1 p.m.  The parade will turn right on National and make its way to Plaza Park.
Former teacher J. M. Lucero would act as grand marshal.
The Cardinals are playing the Taos Tigers at 7 p.m. Friday.  The coronation ceremony is at half time.  The homecoming dance will be immediately following the game.
