Las Vegas City Schools Welcomes New Superintendent

The Las Vegas City Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Melissa Sandoval as the new Superintendent of LVCS. After an extensive search Superintendent Sandoval was selected for her exceptional leadership skills, innovative vision and dedication to educational excellence.
 
Superintendent Sandoval brings over 26 years of experience in education, having served in various roles including teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent. Most recently Ms. Sandoval served as the superintendent of Penasco public schools where she led significant improvements in student achievement, community engagement and curriculum development.
 
Superintendent Sandoval will oversee all aspects of the district's operations, including curriculum, staff development and student services. Ms. Sandoval is committed to fostering a collaborative environment where students, teachers, and the community can work together achieve academic success and personal growth.

Our goal will be to ensure that every student is prepared for success in college, career, and life.
 
Superintendent Sandoval holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Highlands
University as well as a Bachelor Degree in elementary education with a minor in English.
